Bolton flasher gets year in jail for exposing himself to THREE females – one a girl of 12

A Bolton man who indecently exposed himself to three female victims including a schoolgirl as young as 12 has been jailed for a year.

Patrick Tamas, 22, of Merehall Close, Bolton, was found guilty of three counts of indecent exposure that all occurred in the space of 24 hours, last month.

He was sentenced at Bolton Crown Court, to 12 months in prison and has been required to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.

Detective Sergeant Patrick Wood said: “These exposures caused a great deal of distress and anxiety in the local area, particularly among women and parents given the ages of two of the victims.

“Although this investigation has now been completed we are keeping an open mind that there may be other victims, who for whatever reason have not come forward to the police.”

The court heard how Tamas flashed a 12-year-old girl in the Bronlow Way area of Halliwell at around 7pm on October 26.

He then repeated the offence just two hours later that evening in a nearby area to a 17-year-old girl.

The final incident took place at about 7.45pm on October 27 on Thynne Street, Great Lever, during which Tamas exposed himself to a 32-year-old woman.

Police believe there may be other victims who have yet to come forward and they are now appealing to the public.

Detective Sergeant Wood said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who may have been a victim of indecent exposure to come forward to speak to us in confidence.

“Some may trivialise the offence of indecent exposure but I want to assure the public that we take this type of incident extremely seriously and we will strive to safeguard our community, and ensure offenders like Tamas are brought to justice.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
