Four men charged with firearm offences following GMP raids in Bury and Oldham

Four Greater Manchester men were charged with firearm offences, following raids in Bury and Oldham on Friday.

Greater Manchester Police said that the raids were carried out on May 11 as part of an operation to tackle gun crime.

Robert Marshall, 25, of Penwell Road, Oldham, Wayne Catterall, 28, of Swallow Drive, Bury, Philip Stephenson, 31, of Mortimer Street, Oldham, and Ibrar Ahmed 30, of no fixed address, were all charged with possessing ammunition for a firearm without a certificate and transferring a small firearm.

They are due to appear before Tameside Magistrates on Saturday May 12 2012.

Six people arrested have been bailed pending further inquiries.
