At one with yourself… and your dog: Manchester Yoga show promotes canine calm

The downward facing dog is no strange phrase for any yoga fans, but how about ‘doga’?

That’s the new craze in relaxation, and experts will be here in Manchester this weekend for the OM Yoga Show to show how your furry friend can stay involved.

The show, the biggest of its kind in Europe, describes itself as ‘the perfect counter to today’s modern world’ and exhibitions and classes on offer over the weekend include hot-pod yoga, Yoga4Autism and even Yoga for You and Your Dog.

Owners will take part in traditional Hatha yoga poses while their pets are free to take part or just wander round the room bemusedly.

Experts will also be showing how to perform acupressure and massages on their canines to reduce stress and anxiety in their pups.

For the humans, there will also be a selection of vegetarian and vegan food stalls as well as plenty of shopping opportunities for yoga essentials.

Most classes are included in the ticket price and patrons are advised to arrive ten minutes early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets start from £7.50 for an adult one day pass in advance online or £9 on the door. For more information click here.
