Boozed-up racist thug attacks man in Bolton after attending EDL march – CCTV of suspect released

Police have released CCTV images of man suspected to be the boozed up thug who racially abused and attacked a man in Bolton after attending an EDL march.

The 19-year-old victim was sat in his car outside a fast food shop on Bradshawgate, Leigh at 6.45pm on August 26 when he was racially abused.

When the victim got out of his car he was punched in the face until witnesses intervened and the attacker and his companions ran away leaving the 19-year-old with a cut to his eye.

Detective Constable Gary Knox said: “From what we know, we believe this man had attended an EDL march earlier that day before drinking at a pub in the town centre.”

Police believe that following the incident the offender caught a train and got off in the Preston area.
