Wigan stabbing victim remains stable in hospital as police charge suspect over attack

A 28-year-old man accused of stabbing a 48-year-old Wigan man on Friday has been charged over the attack.

Nicholas Kanakis, of Upper Dicconson Street, Swinley, will stand trial on Wednesday at Liverpool Crown Court.

Police discovered a male victim with a stab wound at around 10.50am in Swinley on July 13.

He was rushed to hospital where he is in a stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Kanakis was arrested and charged by the police for wounding with serious intent and will remain in custody until July 17.
