Elyar Fox: YouTube sensation dubbed perfect pop package ‘living the dream’ as he prepares for Manchester gig

A YouTube sensation dubbed the ‘pefect pop package’ says he ‘is living the dream’ as he prepares to call into Manchester to support The Wanted on their farewell tour.

Elyar Fox, 18, will help warm crowds up and down the country with fellow upcoming stars The Vamps as they embark on The Wanted’s farewell UK arena Tour.

The budding singer-songwriter will be performing in front of thousands of fans at the Manchester Phones 4 U Arena on March 18.

Growing up, Elyar has always had his heart set on becoming a performer and has been enjoying his success since he rose to prominence on YouTube.

“I am living the dream at the moment. I can’t wait to tour with The Wanted, they are all cool guys and I have known them for over a year now,” he said.

“It’s a really big arena tour and I am really excited to play in front of big crowds.”

As is common with many upcoming stars Elylar was discovered on YouTube after recording a string of successful covers including ‘Boyfriend’ by Justin Bieber, which was tweeted by Ryan Seacrest, resulting in 4million hits.

The young singer-songwriter has received glowing praise. He told MM: “To be called a perfect pop package feels cool. I get really great support.”

Elyar launched his YouTube channel ‘eldoode’ with a cover of ‘Someone Like You’ by Adele followed by a cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’, which racked up millions of views in under a month.

“Youtube was how I got here really, basically without it people wouldn’t have got in touch and I wouldn’t have had attention off any music labels,” he told MM.

“It’s a great place for artists to be discovered.”

The London based singer has since been recording his own songs and has even performed at the 02 arena while supporting You Me At Six.

“Performing is my background it is where I came from. I love performing in front of crowds – it is what I have always wanted to do.

“Since I was 13 all I ever wanted to do was perform live. I never used to play football when I was younger, instead I used to play gigs at the weekends with my friends at any venue that would have us.”

Elyar has also gained a huge online following through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The young star already boasts more than 600,000 likes on Facebook and has in excess of 160,000 Twitter followers.

He said: “My fans are really cool and supportive, It feels really great to get so much support, I am really lucky to do what I love doing.”

The internet sensation has just returned to the UK after shooting the video for his latest single ‘Billion Girls’ in LA.

He explained: “I am pretty confident that my next single A Billion Girls will do well. It is a really exciting song and I love the video so hopefully it will be a big success.

“My label have been amazing – they have helped me put my music out. They are a really cool label and have been really helpful, they are almost like a family.”

The fresh-faced singer has so far recorded two pop songs, taking inspiration from artists such as Good Charlotte and Bruno Mars.

“I have been influenced by a lot of different artists, but I listen to quite a lot of pop music. The first album I ever bought was by Good Charlotte so I kind of have a bit of a rocky background,”Elyar said.

“I have also really been influenced by Bruno Mars, I think he is an incredible singer-songwriter and he is really talented.”

Bright things are on the horizon for Elyra, who has high hopes that this year will be the best yet in his career.

He said: “This next year is going to be really exciting because I have the wanted tour and my next single coming out and then the next step is my album but I am just taking everything one step at a time.”
