Someone recently said that sex belongs to the 21st century woman.
Since the Neanderthalic, testosterone-fuelled rule of men during centuries of ‘female oppression’ the roles have reversed with women now in high-flying careers making all the decisions.
And we’re not only talking about what to have for dinner, women are now dominating in the bedroom as their exhausted partners try to keep up with whatever fad (or ahem… equipment) has appeared in this week’s Cosmopolitan.
But yet, some women are still not satisfied with their sex life with men across the globe racking their brains trying to figure out the much sought-after answer.
No, it is not the more obvious conundrums of why are we here? Is there a God? Can you wear those boxers two days in a row?
But of why women cheat.
A survey from a leading site for extramarital affairs has revealed that they have come up with the solution of why many women stray from their other halves.
And a survey of 10,245 UK females delivered an overwhelming answer… terrible sex.
In fact a staggering 79.2% revealed that an unfulfilled sex life have driven them into the arms of another man, crying out for their misters to step up their game.
But what do the women of Manchester think?
Taisie Wilson, a 24-year-old sales representative from Burnage, though she admits she has never taken a bite of the forbidden fruit, feels she has a couple of other ideas to the soaring rate of female infidelity.
“It must be said that it is less natural for a woman to cheat and biologically they are programmed to want one companion, however, it depends on the woman and the relationship.
“The male could have already broken the trust therefore the woman has retaliated and deems it acceptable to cheat. It might be because her partner is unkind to her and she craves affection elsewhere.
“But let’s be honest, I do agree that it mostly comes down to bad sex.”
And what do the lads think?
Richard Wharton, 28, a mechanic from Chorton said: “In my experience it’s women who hate being treated right and want to date the dickhead.
“They are never happy with what they have.”
The survey from AshleyMadison revealed that women between the ages of 25 and 34 women most likely to seek an affair outside marriage yet surprisingly 76.9% of unfaithful women still love their husband or long term partner.
A typical example of having your cake… and eating it too.
Noel Biderman, founder and CEO of AshleyMadison.com, said: “While women are gaining power in the work-place they’re no longer prepared to accept a disappointing performance from their man in the bedroom.
“Many work long hours, they juggle family and professional responsibilities and find that a busy lifestyle can be both an excuse and a cover for cyber affairs and physical affairs.
“Attitudes to infidelity amongst women are changing fast. The taboo is disappearing; it’s no longer a male preserve.”
