Teen yobs hurl brick through Manchester bus window hitting boy, 5, and cutting head open

By Marios Papaloizou

A five-year-old boy had his head cut open after he was struck by a brick thrown through a Manchester bus window by two teenage yobs.

The 205 bus to Gorton was travelling along Belle Vue Street towards Hyde Road on Novermber 25 at about 8:40pm when the brick was thrown and smashed one of the back windows.

The young boy suffered a minor cut to his head but police have said it could have been much worse.

Police Constable Alex Vernon based at Central Park Police station said: “The two offenders have shown no thought or regard for anyone who has been on the bus and for reasons only they know, have launched a brick through the window.

“To make matters even worse, it hit a five-year-old boy at the side of the head.  Thankfully, he suffered a minor cut but we could have been dealing with something even more horrendous.”

The offenders are white in their mid-teens, of skinny build and wore dark clothing.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the two offenders throwing the brick or running away from the scene to come forward.

Anyone with information should call police on 0161 856 4288 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800. 555 111.
