I know it’s over… Morrissey says next two UK gigs will be his last EVER

Morrissey does not owe his fans anything.  Nevertheless, many will be devastated to hear that the singer has announced that he knows it’s over as far as UK gigs are concerned.

In a statement released on online Morrissey fanzine True To You¸ the singer cited lack of interest from UK record labels as the reason for stopping.

He said: “There is absolutely no way that we can generate any interest from record labels in the United Kingdom, therefore the imminent two nights at Hammersmith are likely to be our final ever UK shows.

“We are obsessively grateful for all interest and loyalty from our audience throughout 28 years but without new releases, there is no point in any additional touring.

“Thank you for so many absolutely incredible times. The pleasure and privilege is mine.”

Morrissey was dropped by Harvest Records last year and has been unsigned ever since.

Fans with tickets to the London gigs will no doubt be relishing the prospect of Morrissey’s final UK performances.

The rest of us can only hope that this latest statement from Morrissey is a miserable lie.
