‘It’s gonna get wild!’: Electronic DJ Skream announces Manchester gig

Skream is back with a European tour – including a much-anticipated date at Gorilla bar in Manchester.

The Electronic DJ and producer has announced his European tour, ‘Open to Close’, with a performance on Friday, November 25 in the city’s award-winning venue.

The tour is set to be unlike any other, as Skream’s diverse musical ability manifests itself as a show that blends funk, house, techno and disco.

With no need for fillers, Skream will play his mammoth set from the minute the doors open right up until the lights come on.

The show will be a back-to-basics raw clubbing night, forsaking flashy effects and favouring a pure sound-centred experience for true music lovers.

Speaking of the tour, Skream said: “[I will be] allowing the vibe inside the club and on the dancefloor to take me wherever it desires.

“People assume because I did one thing for so long that I only like that style, but this tour will give me a chance to show people that my knowledge goes a bit further than that,

“It’s gonna get wild!”

London-born Skream, real name Oliver Jones, began producing music at the age of 15 and broke into the UK music scene in 2006 with his first album, Skream!.

Over the last 10 years, Skream has been around the world both solo and as part of Magnetic Man, performing everywhere from the USA to Japan and beyond.

Over time, he grew from his roots as a dubstep pioneer to possess the unique, unmatched sound he now plays to thousands.
