Want to find city rental costs? Manchester Metrolink map reveals range of area prices

Those living in the Metrolink network’s City Zone pay an average of £223 more per month more than those on other lines, according to a new rental price map.

The map, compiled by Manchester-based company Digital Media Team, mirrors the London Underground version put together by Thrillist in September.

Average monthly rent prices for one-bedroom properties at each stop across the network were taken from Zoopla and placed onto the map.

Unsurprisingly, the City Zone charges the highest rent with an average of £718 per month, with Piccadilly and Piccadilly Gardens the most expensive stops at £785.

The next most expensive line is Eccles at £554 per month, undoubtedly bolstered by prices surrounding Salford Quays and Media City UK where five consecutive stops demand £690 per month.

Besides the City Zone, Ashton-under-Lyne is the only line with prices north of the £700 mark, with the first four stops surrounding Sportcity ranging from £734 to £757.

Oldham King Street – on the Rochdale Town Centre line – is the only stop across the entire network that offers property as less than £300 per month, at £297.

This contributes towards making the Rochdale line the cheapest on average, with an average monthly rent of £407.

For six stops – three in the City Zone and three on the Rochdale line – no data was available.
