Corsets raise thousands for charity

Corsets raise thousands for charity

by Francesca Librae

AN Accrington businesswoman has raised £1,600 for a children’s charity at this year's annual fundraising auction.

Lisa Milburn, owner of women's fashion boutique Extreme in Water Street, donated two hand-made corsets to the prestigious auction to
raise money for Bolton Lads and Girls Club.

Lisa had originally donated one corset to the event, which took place at The Last Drop Village Hotel in Bolton, but agreed to donate an
additional one in order to raise more money.

The popular corsets were bought by my two men for £800 apiece.

Lisa, who started Extreme in 1992, said: “I was delighted to be able to help such a great cause and I couldn’t believe how much we raised!”

Bolton Lads and Girls Club has offered activities and support to Bolton’s most disadvantaged young people since 1889 – the club provides leisure, social and supporting activities and is funded by donations.
