Great Britain's European and Commonwealth 110m hurdles king Andy Turner struck twice in Manchester to continue his blistering early season form.

Turner turned out twice in fifty minutes to win both the 110m and 200m hurdles against high quality opposition at the Great City Games in Manchester.

Elsewhere on the Deansgate street track, world heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis made her return from injury, coming third and second in the 100m hurdles and 150m respectively while Mark Lewis-Francis won the 100m.

Turner recently ran the second fastest time of the year in Jamaica, only David Oliver has gone faster, and he relished the opportunity to keep showing his rivals what he has to offer.

"I still have a long way to go to match guys like Oliver and (Dayron) Robles but that felt good and I am getting there. I am happy with where I am n ow," said Turner.

"Liu Xiang is back as well now and I am glad as he is just another guy for me to target and look for in races and try to match.

"The 110m is work, the 200m is pleasure. I never train for it, I literally put my shoes on and see what happens but I really enjoy it and it is useful too."
