Panacea nightclub attack: Reveller glassed in face after jumping queue in Manchester city centre celeb haunt

By Danielle Wainwright

CCTV images have been released after a partygoer who jumped the toilet queue in glitzy Manchester nightclub Panacea  was glassed in the face and punched to the floor in a violent April Fools’ attack.

The assault happened in the nightclub toilet on Monday April 1 at around midnight when the 25-year-old victim walked straight to the front of the queue ignoring the warning to go to the back by the toilet attendant.

As she walked out of the cubicle, a woman smashed a glass into the victim’s face and punched her to the ground attacking her until door staff ejected her.

The woman is described as being white, olive skinned in her late 20s, around 5ft 5in tall, of slim build and had long brown curly hair past her shoulders.  It’s thought she wore an orange dress, long black coat and spoke with a local accent.

Detective Constable Jonathan Davies, based at Bootle Street Police Station, said: “The victim was queue jumping and refused to do as the toilet attendant was asking however, she did not deserve to be viciously assaulted in such a way.

“She has been left with cuts and bruises to her face and body and she is lucky her injuries are not worse.

“I would ask people to take a good look at the image and if they recognise the woman to contact police.  It is likely someone in the toilet queue saw what happened and I would appeal to them to come forward.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 2510 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
