Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle wants home comforts after away day defeat to Birmingham City

Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle wants his side to replicate their home form as they lost on the road for the third time this season.

The Trotters’ sluggish start to the season continued as they went down 2-1  to Birmingham City at St Andrew’s, with Chris Eagles grabbing Bolton’s goal with a stunning 30-yard free kick.

And Coyle acknowledges the club expected to be in a better position as they still struggle to come to terms with life in the Championship.

“We are six games in and there is no doubt we wanted a bigger points tally than we have at this stage,” Coyle told the club’s website.

“We have taken seven out of nine points on home turf and are unbeaten at the Reebok, and we want that on the road too.”

Bolton head to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday, who sit one place above the Trotters in the Championship.

Coyle, whose side have taken seven from nine points at the Reebok this year, will be hoping for a first win on the road this season.
