The top 10 places to visit with your team when the sun is shining

It’s a rare occurrence to see the sun shining over a normally gloomy Manchester, which is why so many Mancunians are quick to make the most of the warm weather.

Unfortunately, many of us also have to work on these sporadic warm weather days, making it all the more difficult to be happy for those who don’t.

But if you’re looking to boost morale and make the most of the sun whilst it’s shining, there are plenty of locations in and around Manchester for you to enjoy with your colleagues.

To get you and your team ready for those summer sun-filled days, Manchester co-working space providers, Accelerate Places, have provided their top 10 hotspots to visit with your colleagues in the sunshine.

1. Turtle Bay

What better way to enjoy the sunshine than with a fruity, refreshing cocktail in hand? Turtle Bay on Oxford Street is the perfect place to enjoy after-work drinks, as it has an outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your Carribean food, drinks and weather (well, almost).

This is the perfect place to visit if you want to treat your colleagues to fresh, Carribean food, summer jams and island cocktails – all of which would fool anyone into thinking they were on a white sand beach in Jamaica, rather than in the heart of Manchester.

2. Treetop Trek

If you and your team are more of the thrill-seeking types, Treetop Trek in Heaton Park is the perfect place for you to visit this summer. Their outdoor treetop aerial adventure course features 35 thrilling courses, sitting at a height of 15m above ground – it’s certainly not for the faint hearted.

Not only is this a fun activity for a summer’s day, it’s also a great team-building exercise that will help to bring your colleagues closer together.

3. Dukes 92

No matter whether you visit for lunch or dinner, your team is bound to enjoy the stunning setting of Dukes 92. There’s plenty of room to sit outdoors and enjoy the sunshine, and there’s even an outdoor kitchen so you and your team can get served before the lunch hour is up.

4. The Mere Golf Resort & Spa

Whoever said you shouldn’t mix business with pleasure obviously hasn’t enjoyed a relaxing day of golf amongst colleagues.

On a sunny day, you can enjoy the view of the green pastures and The Mere lake, whilst you and your colleagues unwind on the golf course. Of course, this isn’t a last minute activity to take part in on a summer’s day. But with the right planning, you can treat your team to a nice day of golf when the sun is shining.

5. Play Football, Bury

To bring out your team’s competitive side, a spot of 5-a-side at the Play Football field in Bury is sure to do the trick.

This will require a bit of forward planning, as you’ll need to book a pitch in advance, but it’s an activity that’s great to take part in when the weather’s good.

6. Bridgewater Canal

If you’re looking to enjoy a fuss-free activity to enjoy with your team, visiting the Bridgewater Canal is your best bet.

From here, you can hop on a narrow boat, or hire your own barge and enjoy a sun-soaked booze cruise. Whichever way you choose to enjoy it, drifting down Manchester’s canal with a drink in hand is sure to boost morale amongst your team.

7. 20 Stories

20 Stories is the talk of the town in Manchester at the moment, and it’s easy to see why. The restaurant boasts fine food, panoramic views of Manchester and a cosy outdoor rooftop terrace. This makes it the perfect place to celebrate a client win with your team this summer.

8. Burrs Country Park

Burrs Country Park covers over 36 hectares of countryside and it lies on the River Irwell, making it the ideal spot for various watersports and outdoor activities.

Here, you and your team can test your skills with adventurous activities such as climbing, kayaking and raft building. On the other hand, there’s plenty of space to laze around in the sun if that’s more your thing.

9. BrewDog

The office dog is as much of a team member as the rest of your colleagues, so why not treat them to a tasty treat at BrewDog.

Whilst dog-friendly food isn’t part of the menu, dogs are allowed on the premises and there’s an outdoor seating area for your office dog and your team to bask in the sunshine together.

10. Zouk

Zouk is a trendy tea bar and grill that offers delicious food, thirst-quenching drinks and shisha on tap.

They have an outdoor space and comfy seating area, where you and your colleagues can enjoy fresh and flavourful indian cuisine on those long summer days.

It’s clear to see that Manchester has a whole range of outdoor spaces and activities to enjoy whilst the sun is shining.

So why not do something different this summer and get your team out and about to enjoy the rare Manchester sunshine?
