Animal death drugs stolen: Lethal injections swiped from Stockport veterinary centre

By Danielle Wainwright

A large amount of lethal drugs including two bottles of deadly Pentoject were stolen from a Stockport vetinary centre on Friday.

The burglary took place at around 2.10am on Lea Green Vetinary Centre on Wellington Road North with police particularly concerned over the theft of a lethal injection for animals.

Pentoject is used to put animals to sleep and has potentially deadly side-effects if ingested by a person including violent sickness, coma or death.

As little as 5ml of the drug could kill a human if injected.

Other drugs taken were several packs of Diazepam, packets of Phenabarbetone, injectable opiate Vetergesic labelled as Burprecare and one and a half boxes of Tramadol 50 mg capsules.

Officers investigating the theft are attempting to trace the drugs as well as the offenders responsible.

Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 9154 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
