Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert is being fined and slapped with a one-game ban after reacting ‘improperly’ to referee decisions during their defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.
The Premier League champions were awarded to penalties during their 5-0 thrashing of the Midlanders – although their first was berated by the former Norwich manager.
And after accepting charges by the FA for his language and conduct, he was given an £8,000 fine and will be forced to watch from the stands as his men host Arsenal this weekend.
"Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has admitted a breach of FA Rule E3," a spokesman for the FA said.
"It relates to language and/or behaviour amounting to improper conduct following his side's game at Manchester City on November 17.
"Lambert accepted the standard penalty for the charge and will now serve a one-match touchline ban to commence with immediate effect.
"He has also been fined £8,000."
