Boy, 17, arrested after man found stabbed in face in Bolton

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a man was stabbed in the face in Bolton yesterday.

Police were called to a house on Barsham Drive after reports of a disturbance at around 3.30am – where they discovered a 21-year-old man with stab wounds to the chest and face.

The man is now in hospital where his condition is described as ‘serious’.

The 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and remains in police custody for questioning.

 Detective Inspector Chris Walker from Bolton CID said: “People will undoubtedly be concerned when they hear about this news, but I would like to try and reassure them that we are continuing to make enquiries and we believe this was an isolated incident.”
