Ruthless thugs batter two men with baseball bats in Heywood home

Two men were battered in a brutal baseball bat attack after thugs burst into their Heywood home.

Sometime between 9.30pm and 10pm on Monday, May 12, two men armed with baseball bats entered a house on Olive Street, Heywood.

Once inside the men launched a vicious attack on the two men who live there.

Pc Steve Farnell, said: “Quite why these two men were subjected to a brutal baseball attack in their own home is unknown.

“At this time there is no clear motive for the incident and I would encourage anyone in the community with information about the assault, the people responsible or any information about why the address or occupants may have been targeted to get in touch.

“We will treat your information in strict confidence.”

A 50-year-old man was taken to hospital and treated for cracked ribs, while a 49-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

Both offenders were white, between 20 and 25 years old, of medium build and between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in tall.
