Bolton man bailed after hit and run leaves Farnworth teenager fighting for her life with bleed on brain

A teenager is fighting for her life after being hit by a van which failed to stop at the scene on Saturday in Farnworth.

Police were called to Anchor Lane shortly before 2.15am where they found that the 18-year-old had been involved in a collision with a white van.

A 26-year-old man from Bolton was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. He has been bailed until August 26.

The girl is in a serious condition in hospital after suffering a bleed to the brain and a suspected fractured pelvis.

Police Constable Leigh Rickett said: “We are at the early stages of our investigation and would appeal for anyone with any information to contact us.”
