A motorcyclist who died in a horrific road collision in Manchester yesterday is being hailed as ‘too good for this world’ by his family.

Gavin Boyce, 29, of Stalybridge, was riding his Suzuki bike when he crashed into a Ford Focus on Ashton Road West, Clayton, shortly before 8pm.

The father of two was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary while fighting for his life but medical staff could not save him and an investigation is now underway.

His family said: "Gavin was the most generous man this world could hold. A loving fiancée, son, dad, brother, uncle and a true loyal friend to so many.

"Too good for this world, that's why he's gone to a better place. Precious moments with Gavin will stay in our hearts forever. He was fondly remembered and so sadly missed by all who knew him. One in a million."

Police Sergeant Daniel Byrne said: "Our sympathies are with Gavin's family at this tragic time, as they try to come to terms with the loss of their loved one.

"An investigation is on-going into the circumstances surrounding this collision, and I am anxious to hear from anyone who saw the collision or anyone who was driving on Ashton New Road beforehand."

Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4742.
