Manchester’s LGBT community are NOT happy after Britney Spears is announced for Brighton Pride

Manchester’s LGBT community have been sent green with envy at the news that Britney Spears will play at Brighton Pride.

Since the singer was announced for the charity event this morning, social media has been set alight with people questioning what will be in store at Manchester Pride.

It seems that many are unconvinced that the organisers will be able to lockdown anyone of the stature of Britney – and a few have even been poking fun at who could eventually make the final line-up.

One person tweeted: “Manchester Pride – probably Cheeky Girls, Lucy Spraggan (again) and Heather Small.”

While another added: “I’m putting a fiver on either Kerry Katona, Sonya or Sinitta.”

Meanwhile, others are a little more optimistic that those planning the charity event will be able to pull something special out of the bag.

“Now all we need is Gaga at Manchester Pride and we set,” hoped one Pride attendee.

A second suggested: “If Brighton are getting Britney, Manchester Pride need to book Alexandra Burke and Courtney Act after she wins CBB tbh.”

Britney will actually make her grand return to the city when she performs at Manchester Arena on August 18.

However, this is one week before Manchester’s Big Weekend will kick off on August 24.

While the festival line-up is yet to be announced, the event will feature its annual parade as well as a candlelight vigil.

Last year’s version of the charity event was headlined by Example, Liberty X and Clean Bandit.

Take That also made a live appearance, though they did not perform.
