‘He just craves some fuss and a cuddle’: Rescue dog searches for new home after being dumped in streets

Heartbreak isn’t something that is exclusive to humans, and even for a dog, the end of a relationship can be crushing.

Meet Johnnie, our new dog of the week and the sad victim of being abandoned by his owner, left to fend for himself on the streets.

Covered in little black specks on his ears, this white Staffordshire Bull Terrier could be your perfect companion in 2014 and beyond.

ADORABLE: Johnnie licks his lips at the prospect of a new home

He needs a partner this year, after being deprived of the love and attention he craves. He’s warm-hearted and friendly, super-playful with children, and could be one of the most loving dogs you will ever meet.

The lovable pooch is currently looking for a permanent home to call his own, after being found dumped on the streets earlier this month.

“He is another one added to my ‘would-love-to-take-home’ list.” said Cassie, a volunteer at Rochdale Dog Rescue. “I hope he’s not waiting long for his new home, he really is my little love.

LOTS OF LOVE TO GIVE: Johnnie loves to a good cuddle

“He’s sweet, gentle and loves a good fuss,” Cassie added. “He would much rather be having a good fuss than even going for a walk.

“He still has the puppy look about him; it’s so very cute indeed.”

Johnnie’s a little on the skinny side, but is still very healthy, though he won’t complain if his new owner plans on offering a few extra doggie treats.

Cassie says he’s still a looker, despite the need to maybe put on a few extra pounds: “He is so handsome; he has the most amazing eyes you will ever see,” she said.

CHILLIN’: Johnnie loves to relax with his companion

Johnnie is fully vaccinated, neutered, chipped, wormed, flea-treated and fully assessed, so there are no problems for people who think they can’t afford to adopt him. He is in desperate need of a home, and is perfectly fine around others also.
