Ajax Danish star Christian Eriksen issues ‘come and get me’ plea to Manchester City

By Colin Henrys

Danish superstar Christian Eriksen could be on his way to Manchester City after admitting the prospect of joining the Blues appeals to him.

Eriksen starred as Dutch powerhouses Ajax took four points off City in the Champions League, but with his contract up in 12 months the Amsterdam giants are looking to sell.

And with City keen to strengthen this summer after rivals Manchester United reclaimed the title last night, the 21-year-old playmaker admitted the move would help him progress as a footballer.

“I’d like to play for a club like Manchester City or PSG,” he told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.

“For me it is important that I have a good feeling at the club.

“I should be able to play football and then I could develop. I will be a better football player.”

City, who also continue to be linked with Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, may face stiff opposition for Eriksen’s signature however.

The Daily Mail reported last week the Dane was also a 12-million-pound target for Liverpool, while Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested.
