The most sickening ‘selfie’: Junkie jailed for life over heroin murder as call girl cleared after pic by corpse

Here is the sick selfie Eccles call girl Kirsty Edmondson took while in the same room as the rotting corpse of a former history teacher.

Her lover Christopher Sawyers, 35, was jailed for life, after he was found guilty of murdering 47-year-old Kenneth Chapman, aswell as another 60-year-old man, with a deadly heroin overdose in a plot to swindle drug money.

He was ordered to serve a minimum of 33 years.

However, Edmondson, 23, wept as she was cleared of murder at Manchester Crown Court – but did admit fraud and theft offences and was jailed for three years.

The pair romped in Mr Chapman’s bed and lived in his flat for up to a week as they raided his bank account in a bid to find money to buy drugs.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Jones from the Major Incident Team said: “In the case of Kenneth Chapman, he (Sawyers) deliberately injected him with a fatal dose of heroin for one reason and one reason only: greed.

BEHIND BARS: Christopher Sawyer killed Kenneth Chapman with a heroin overdose

“He has never accepted responsibility for what he did, meaning Ken’s family have had to undergo the trauma of a trial.

“It is our belief that he killed him in order to financially benefit from his death so that together with Kirsty Edmondson, they could continue to buy heroin.

“There is little doubt in my mind that the grip heroin had on them caused them to continue to periodically live with the dead body of Kenneth Chapman for in excess of a week in order to steal from him without ever giving a thought to the appalling nature of their crimes.”

In 2012, Chapman met prostitute Edmondson and very shortly after she moved into his home address.

Chapman, who had been disgraced when he was jailed for grooming a schoolgirl online for sex, met heroin addict Sawyers – who used Edmondson and other prostitutes to get money in order to buy drugs.

On December 28 2013, Edmondson and Mr Chapman bought heroin and went to his flat on Bridgewater View where they were later joined by Sawyers.

At some point during that day, Sawyers injected Mr Chapman with a massive overdose of heroin whilst he was in a collapsed state and in no position to defend himself.

Sawyers and Edmondson then continued to visit the flat and use it for their own purposes, stealing items from the flat to sell for drugs and making several attempts to steal fromChapman.

On Sunday January 12 2014, police were called to the flat following a concern for welfare and discovered his body.

A post mortem revealed he died from morphine toxicity.

Sawyer was also found guilty of murdering 60-year-old ex-accountant Peter Clark 17 months earlier.

In July 2012, Sawyer and Clark were in a house on Tutbury Street, Manchester. Sawyer’s injected heroin and crack cocaine into the neck of Mr Clark causing him to lose consciousness.

An ambulance was called but Mr Clark died a short time later in hospital. The post mortem revealed he died from morphine, alcohol and diazepam toxicity.

“Christopher Sawyers was responsible for administering a fatal injection into Peter Clark,” said Detective Chief Jones.

“When Peter complained of feeling ill, Sawyers called an ambulance but the damage had already been done and he died.

“Albeit Sawyer’s never had any intention to kill Peter his illegal act in administering that drug caused a man to lose his life and today he has rightly been held responsible for that.

“We hope the sentences passed today will give some small comfort to Ken and Peter’s family and it is with them that our thoughts are with today.”
