Manchester College lecturer battered in ‘violent and unprovoked attack’ trying to kick non-students off campus

A Manchester College lecturer was left with cuts to his face and head after an unprovoked attack by two men last month.

The 48-year-old victim was in his office when he was told that two men who were not students were on campus at around 9.25am on June 7.

After asking the pair to leave the lecturer was struck across the head by one of the men as a scuffle broke out at the main entrance, after the attacked the pair walked towards Sackville Street.

Police Constable Andy Owen said: “The victim has been left with cuts to his face and head in what was a violent and completely unprovoked attack.

“The member of staff quite rightly told the men that they should not be on campus and when they were escorted out, one of them turned on him.”

One man is black, in his early 20s, with short black hair and approximately 5ft 10in tall, he wore a bright green shirt and spoke with a local accent.

The other man is also black and in his early 20s but was shorter than his accomplice and had short black curly hair.

Police have now released an image of one of the men wanted in connection of the attack and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.
