An image of a man suspected of threatening to slit a woman’s throat as she withdrew cash out of an ATM on Bradshawgate in Leigh on September 14 has been released.

Detective Sergeant Patrick Wood, said: “The offender made some very chilling threats to the victim, who is understandably distraught by what has happened.

“This happened on a Saturday evening when area would have been teeming with people and I would urge anyone with information or who may have witnessed what happened to come forward.

“We have recovered CCTV images of the suspect so I want people to look closely at this and if they recognise the person we are trying to identify to please call the police.

“I also want to appeal directly to this person: If you recognise yourself from the image come forward and talk to us now as it will only be a matter of time before we come for you.”

The man is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, of medium build with broad shoulders, dark hair and wearing a white t-shirt.
