Calling all sun-lovers: Jet2 launch direct Fuerteventura flight route from Manchester Airport

By Danielle Wainwright

Mancunian holiday makers can enjoy hassle-free trips to Fuerteventura as Jet2 have added flights to the popular sun-soaking destination direct from Manchester Airport.

The packages are available to book now for summer 2014, and join the operator’s existing Canary Island flights to Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Prices start from £399 per person for seven nights and sun-seekers in a bid to allow jetsetters to enjoy an exciting and peaceful holiday without breaking their budget.

The beautiful island of Fuerteventura enjoys an average of 3,000 hours of sunshine per year and boasts some of the best beaches in Europe – making it a picturesque family vacation.

Steve Heapy, Chief Executive of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “The addition of the sun soaked island of Fuerteventura is great news for our local customers who now have even more choice when it comes to selecting their next far sun getaway.

“Many holidaymakers are already planning their 2014 holidays – perhaps the unrelenting miserable weather has prompted early bookings with many wanting to guarantee themselves a place in the sun next year.”

The island of Fuerteventura comprises three main resorts, Corralejo, Costa Caleta and Jandia.

Corralejo, once a small fishing village is now one of the busiest resorts on the island bustling with shops and restaurants suitable for all the family.

Costa Caleta is a purpose built resort with a marina and large array of shops, and Jandia offers a more relaxing escape – perfect for a little bit of pampering in the sun.

Mr Heapy said: “The island is a bit of an unsung gem when it comes to the Canaries, but with plenty on offer for families as well as beach and water-sports lovers, we’re confident it will prove extremely popular with those wanting guaranteed sunshine.”
