Man, 41, charged with firearm offences after two Salford Royal Hospital nurses held up with gun

A 41-year-old man has been charged after two nurses were threatened at gunpoint in Salford Royal Hospital.

Christopher Turkington from My Street, Weaste, was charged with four counts of possession of a firearm with intent to commit false imprisonment.

He appeared before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on June 22 and was remanded in custody.

At 9.20pm on May 25, police were called to Salford Royal Hospital following reports that a man had threatened staff with a gun.

The man was detained and a firearm recovered following the incident during which no-one was hurt.

 

Victoria Turkington, 40, faced the same charges in May.

 

Ms Turkington, of Briar Hill Court in Pendleton, was remanded over the charges.

 

As part of this investigation enquiries are continuing at an address on Briar Hill Court and an address on My Street, Weaste.
