Manchester is full of fun and weird things to do this bank holiday so if you’re struggling for inspiration have a read below!

Chill Factore

Summer At Chill is a scorching three-week calendar of FREE events, coupled with amazing deals on the snow, helping you stay ice-cool when the mercury starts rising.

Running until September 3, it’s the place where thrill seekers, shape throwers, design lovers and cool kids, teenagers and adults will want to be seen.

From UV Ping Pong, an eight-lane Giant Scalextric and yoga disco to jungle boogie, jewellery making, tote bag lino printing, and a pop-up cinema showing the hilarious Cool Runnings film, complete with a snow machine, you’ll not be bored!

Every Friday, why not come and try out the Virtual Ski Experience – the perfect way to test your skills before you hit the slope!

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a street food market in Alpine Village every Friday and Saturday. You’ll be able to treat your taste buds to Indian street food classics, mac n’ cheese, vegan treats, and there’ll be craft beer too.

“We’re really excited to host this incredible festival which will guarantee an even greater fun filled day out for families at Chill Factore,” said CEO Morwenna Angove.

“Keeping the kids entertained during the holidays can be tricky, however Summer At Chill promises to keep everyone happy all summer, alongside our existing offering on real snow.”

Throughout this period Chill Factore Snow Park is just £10 per person (normally £25), offering a thrilling afternoon for all the family in real snow.

Families can enjoy a whole hour in The Snow Park, taking on the Downhill Donuts, Luge Slip ‘N’ Slide, Sledge ‘O’ Mania and Snow Luge – all on real snow! Still not ready to go home? Chill Factore is giving you an extra hour for just £5!  Alternatively catch the Snowsports bug with Taster Lessons from just £22.

Great Northern – McGregor v Mayweather, Pride and the perfect Sunday roast

From a state-of-the-art multiplex cinema to Manchester’s trendiest bowling alley – not to mention the amazing array of food on offer – there’s something for everyone at the Great Northern.

Looking for somewhere to watch the eagerly anticipated Mayweather v McGregor fight? Well, if like most of us you were unable to jet off to the bright lights of Vegas, we have the next best thing.

Head to Manchester 235, the city’s premier casino, and kick-back with 2-4-1 cocktails and a live screening of the big fight. And, no matter who your money is on there’s still a chance you’ll end up winning big.

Celebrate Pride with a rainbow burger

For all those heading to Manchester for Pride over the Bank Holiday weekend, why not continue to fly the flag with a Pride-themed meal?

Back by popular demand, the crazy creation from Almost Famous will see one of its delicious burgers served up on a rainbow bagel.

Available both inside Almost Famous, Great Northern and Home Sweet Home, Great Northern and (Manchester weather permitting) outside in the gin garden alongside an outdoor Home Sweet Home BBQ, 26-28th 12pm-11pm, serving up delicious offerings from the infamous Manchester burger brand.

All Star Lanes

Scoff the ultimate burger this Bank Holiday, and fuel up to hit the lanes, as the Dagwood Burger makes a return to All Star Lanes.

Back by popular demand, two 6oz of prime, double chuck and rib patties, layered with fresh cuts of cured salami, spicy chorizo, deli sliced turkey and Swiss cheese, topped with an oozy sunny-side up egg in a toasted brioche bun, make this burger the stuff of legends.

If you’re a cocktail connoisseur then enjoy a Breakfast of ‘The Dude’, better yet it’s on 2-4-1 all weekend. All Star Lane’s take on the cult Lewbowski White Russian with the ultimate twist, topped with Fruit Loops.

The likes of Lady Gaga and Drake have graced the bowling lanes, so whether you’re going on a date, spending the weekend with friends or letting the little ones burn off some steam All Star Lanes has got you covered.

Sunday lunch with James Martin

Whether a cure for a sore head or just a laid back Sunday, who better to entrust with the perfect roast than James Martin? Head to his restaurant at James Martin, Manchester 235 and enjoy a great British roast with all the trimmings.

Just £15pp for one course, £20pp for two courses, and if you want a Bank Holiday bonanza you can get three courses for £25pp.
