Movers and shakers invited to Manchester RSPCA’s Strictly Tea Dance in aid of rescued animals

By Chloe Vinden

Get your dancing shoes ready this November as Manchester and Salford’s RSPCA are holding a fundraiser for rescued animals with a Strictly Tea Dance in Chorlton.

Following the success of the Vintage Tea Party fundraiser held in May, the branch are encouraging the general public on November 9 to spend the afternoon at St Werburgh’s Church.

Attendees will learn how to Waltz, under expert instruction by a professional from the Stepping Out Dance Centre.

After the lesson, aspiring dancers will be invited to enjoy a cream tea or a vegan option whilst watching a demonstration performed by professional dancers.

Susie Hughes, 39, Salford RSPCA Branch Manager said: “With strictly fever about to grip the nation, why not try out some dance moves and have an indulgent cream tea afterwards?

“It’s all for a good cause after all, helping to raise money for locally rescued animals.”

The branch aims to relocate and rehabilitate dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs who have been rescued by the national RSPCA inspectorate in the area. The charity relies on £30,000 a month to run the branch and receives no government funding.

Tickets are priced at just £12 per person, if you’d like to attend, please contact the branch on 0161 882 0680.
