Battle of the brothers! Noel Gallagher announces new tour and album hot on heels of Liam’s first solo record

Noel Gallagher has announced that his new album will be released in November – just one month after brother Liam kicks off his solo career.

The ex-Oasis songwriter, whose previous two records under the High Flying Birds guise have reached number one, will release Who Built The Moon on Friday, November 24.

The details have emerged along with an announcement revealing the dates for his 2018 world tour.

Noel will return to his home town to play at the Manchester Arena on Friday, May 4, where just two weeks ago he headlined the We Are Manchester concert culminating in an emotional version of Don’t Look Back in Anger.

Tickets for UK and Ireland dates will go on general sale at 9am on Friday, September 30.

However, for those who pre-order the new album before 8am on Wednesday, a pre-sale window will open at 9am that day.

Noel’s social media pages posted a sneak peak of what we can expect from the new release and its psychedelic edge points to a new direction for his solo venture.

Brother Liam, while not mentioning his sibling by name, appeared to take a veiled swipe at Noel on Twitter on Sunday.

He tweeted: “Psychedelic music by a beige drip is like a vegetarian trying to sell you a kabab as you were LG X.”

With Liam’s album As You Were being released on Friday, October 6, expect to hear more from the pair who will go head-to-head in the charts for the very first time.

The battle of the brothers is on – and fans can’t wait!
