Cyber attack: Suspected computer hacker from South Manchester charged after penetrating Liverpool university site

A suspected computer hacker from South Manchester is being charged with illegally interfering with a university website.

Charantoor Singh, 22, of Alexandra Road, Chorlton, was arrested on April 30 after allegations he hacked into the computer systems of Liverpool John Moore’s University.

Officers from the North West Hub of the Police e-Crime Unit arrested Singh who was subsequently charged with unauthorised access to a computer system and unauthorised impairment of a computer programme.

Singh will appear at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on July 30.
