Champions League draw: Man Utd handed Dutch PSV clash, Man City bag Juventus

Manchester United have been pooled with PSV Eindhoven, CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg while Manchester City will face Juventus, Sevilla and Borussia Moenchengladbach after the Champions League group stage draw was made on Thursday.

United made the draw on Wednesday with a 7-1 aggregate defeat of Club Brugge as Wayne Rooney ended a 10-match goalless streak, the three-times European champions equalling the record (20) for most Champions League qualifications.

City qualified by finishing second behind champions Chelsea in last season’s Premier League and will hope for better fortune from the tournament after another defeat at the hands of Barcelona in the 2014/15 competition.

Eindhoven won Europe’s top honours in 1988 while Juventus are twice champions (1985, 1986), Sevilla became the Europa League/UEFA Cup’s most successful team with four titles in May and Moenchengladbach lost to Liverpool in the 1977 final.
