Molto Buono! Rare manuscripts of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons set for Manchester RNCM display

Classical music fans are in for a treat as the original manuscripts of Vivaldi's Four Seasons are to be exhibited at Manchester’s Royal Northern College of Music next month.

The manuscripts are being loaned to the Manchester Camerata for a Four Seasons concert at the Royal Northern College of Music on Saturday February 2.

Not only will those attending hear the concertos performed by the orchestra, but they will get the chance to see the documents up close.

Executive member for Culture and Leisure, Councillor Rosa Battle, said: "One of the many benefits of the refurbished Central Library is that it will provide us with much more open space to exhibit treasures such as those contained in the Henry Watson Music Library, which is one of the finest music collections held in the UK’s public libraries.

"Gems such as our Vivaldi’s Four Seasons manuscripts are studied by academics, but they also deserve to be seen by a wider audience.”

The concert will be directed by Giovanni Guzzo.
