‘Targeted’ attack in Salford: Gun shots fired in ongoing Little Hulton ‘dispute’

Gun shots were fired in a residential area in Salford on Monday in what police believe to be a ‘targeted attack’ and part of an ‘ongoing dispute’.

Armed officers were called to Crescent Drive in Little Hulton to reports of a firearms discharge around 9.10pm on January 26.

Although nobody was injured a 29-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody for questioning and police are now keen to speak to a man seen running away from the scene.

Superintendent Mark Kenny from Salford division, said: “We believe this was a targeted attack and part of an ongoing dispute. Fortunately, no-one was hurt and I want to reassure local residents there is no wider threat to the community and that we have extra police patrols in the area.

“If you were in the Crescent Drive or Albany Close area around the time of the incident, I would urge you to contact police.

“If you have any concerns at all and want to talk to an officer in confidence, please come forward and speak to us.”

He is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, of stocky build, and was wearing a navy blue bomber jacket, dark pants, hat and gloves.

He was seen running away from Crescent Drive towards Albany Close, carrying a shotgun.
