'We can do it': Chung-Yung Lee insists Championship play-offs not out of Bolton Wanderers' reach

By John McDougall

Chung-Yong Lee has insisted Bolton Wanderers should not be ruled out of the Championships play-off race after their recent run of form.

Craig Dawson’s fifth-minute header was enough to give the Trotters all three points in Tuesday night’s Reebok Stadium clash against struggling Peterborough United.

And the South Korean international believes there is no reason why the Trotters cannot aim for the play-offs and is looking forward to Saturday’s trip to Barnsley.

“It won’t be easy, but we can do it,” Lee told Bolton’s official website. “I felt we would not lose or draw in this game, only win.

“This was a big win, especially after Saturday. We had good confidence before this game – we need to keep going and keep a winning mentality.

“Saturday will be a difficult game, but the same as Peterborough we must keep together and we will win.”

The slender win – the Whites’ third in five games – meant Wanderers shot up the table to tenth, and are seven points off Brighton, who occupy the final play-off spot.

The 24-year-old – who usually plays on the right – believes he feels comfortable on the left, and feels he can form a partnership with full-back Marcos Alonso.

“I used to play on the right but now I play on the left – it is not difficult for me to do, it is just the same job,” he said.

“I think I actually feel more comfortable because I am able to come inside more.

“I am happy playing with Marcos – he has good technique and is powerful physically, so we have a good understanding of each other.”

Lee has made 110 appearances in four seasons at the Reebok Stadium, scoring 14 goals.
