By Danielle Wainwright

A CCTV image of a man suspected of stealing a debit card and withdrawing more than £9,000 after breaking into a Salford school has been released.

The burglary occurred between 7pm on Monday June 10 and 8.45am on Tuesday June 11 at a school on Upper Park Road in Broughton.

A thief was able to gain entry into the school, forcing his way into several rooms and stealing a computer, a small quantity of cash and a debit card.

After the burglary the man used the card at several cash machines and was able to swipe more than £9,000.

However the CCTV was able to capture an image of the alleged offender at a cash machine on Lansdowne Road which police have now released.

Police Constable Ben Longworth said: “We have been making a number of enquiries to try and identify this man and are now appealing to the public for their help.

“The image we have released is of a good quality and we are hopeful that someone will recognise this man and get in touch with us.”
