Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Manchester prove there’s no business like snow business

Britain’s Got Talent hopefuls braced the snow to perform infront of Simon Cowell and fellow judges yesterday, as the three-day auditions kicked off in Salford.

Fans of the show gathered outside the Lowry Theatre to catch a glimpse of the fab four who arrived at the Salford Quays venue hoping to find a star.

While Cowell and Amanda Holden made a beeline for the entrance, crowd favourites David Walliams and Alesha Dixon stopped to sign autographs and pose for photos.

“I got a selfie with David Walliams – he was really nice. He’s my favourite judge because he’s so funny,” said 25-year-old Megan Waugh from Eccles.

MM’s Ben Weich dons his hat and scarf to meet some BGT auditionees:

“Although he was covered in make-up!” said Marc Bennion.

Melanie Forser, an 18-year-old student from Macclesfield, added: “I like Amanda because she’s really nice and quite friendly.

“But Simon is just hilarious because he’s so mean! He just says what he likes.”

Melanie even showed off her unique talent for MM, which can be viewed in the video above.

Last year boyband Collabro were crowned champions, and hundreds lined up today in the typically bracing Manchester weather to perform in front of the judges.

“It’s been absolutely freezing out here but worth it in the end to see the judges roll in, even though Simon was much later than the rest,” said Lauren Masters, 19.

“Sadly I didn’t manage to get a picture with any of them but it was so nice how David went around the crowd – he was out there for like five minutes.”

Auditions will take place over the next two days at the Lowry to find Manchester’s biggest talents among thousands hoping to win the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show later this year.
