Beating the injury Blues: Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero all go in Argentina World Cup fitness bid

The sight of City talisman Sergio Aguero back up and running will be welcomed from fans in sky blue – from Manchester to Buenos Aires.

Argentina hitman Aguero, 26, limped out of the 3-2 win over Nigeria last week with a muscle injury and is set to miss the last-16 clash with Switzerland tomorrow.

But Aguero raised hopes of a swift return after he posted a video on Instagram of himself in full flow on a treadmill.

It is the latest setback for Kun who suffered an injury-hit campaign, but still managed to fire in 17 Premier League goals as the Blues bagged a second title.

However, Aguero has been playing second fiddle to rampant Lionel Messi at the World Cup, which double winners Argentina are hoping to win for the first since 1986 in neighbours Brazil’s backyard.

Messi has so-far struck four goals in three games to ignite a sometimes-stuttering side who many have tipped to go all the way – but Aguero had drawn a blank before injury struck.
