A Moston father, who was murdered on Sunday in an altercation which also left his 13-year-old daughter fighting for her life, died from blunt force head trauma and multiple stab wounds, post-mortem results revealed today.

Police were called to a house on Delta Walk, Moston at 10.20am, and found the body of a 41-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl with serious injuries.

Then, just before 1am on Monday, police were called to Watfield Walk, Harpurhey, after a man threatened a car owner with a knife and stole their vehicle.

A short time later, the vehicle was seen near Rochdale Road by police and when officers approached, the driver smashed into the side of the Alliance pub.

He was taken to hospital suffering from a stab wound and injuries consistent with a collision but died a short time later. A post mortem revealed he had died from a stab wound to the chest.

Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
