Say goodbye to those burgers: Manchester’s Almost Famous farewell party following Northern Quarter fire

By Kenny Lomas

One of Manchester’s favourite burger spots will be saying a final farewell to punters on Saturday night.

Almost Famous were riding high on a growing reputation as being one of the trendiest and tastiest burger joints in Manchester, when a kitchen fire devastated the Northern Quarter premises in June.

A pop-up restaurant called the Almost Famous Beach Club at Great Northern in Deansgate has been keeping the Almost Famous spirit alive over the summer months.

Meanwhile, new premises in Liverpool have been ramping up to open.

To celebrate the grand opening, and to see off the Beach Club in grand fashion, the burger joint is hosting a ‘silent disco food rave’.

Almost Famous spokesperson Ellie Quigley said: “Silent disco is where everyone gets a pair of wireless headphones with DJs playing music over a couple of different channels that you can tune between, depending on your tastes. It’s the most fun you can have with your clothes on OR off.”

She added: “Listen out for offers over the channels on your headphones – make sure you’re listening to the right one!  This is a no-ticket event – just turn up, tune in and dance.”

Before you cry yourself to sleep tonight though, fear not: Almost Famous have said they will return to Manchester.

A spokesman said: “It’s comin back in Manchester soon  bigger better infinitely more insane.”

Until then, you will still be able to sample their mouth-watering burgers from their sister restaurant, Luck Lust Liquor & Burn on High Street in the Northern Quarter.

The silent disco kicks off at 7pm through ’til 11pm.
