He scores again! Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strikes late with deadline day deals for Manchester United pair Zaha and Fabio

Former Manchester United goalpoacher Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has struck again by raiding his old club to bring two players to his new employers Cardiff City.

Solskjaer has signed Fabio da Silva on a permanent deal and talented winger Wilfried Zaha on loan until the end of the season.

Speaking after the defeat at Old Trafford, before the Zaha deal had been completed, the 40-year-old spoke highly about the Brazilian full-back.

“He's an attacking full-back, he'll give us that little bit extra pace and that Brazilian flair and enthusiasm,” he said.

“I can't wait to see him at Cardiff City Stadium."

Fabio was signed by United in 2007 along with his twin brother Rafael, but was deemed surplus to requirements by manager David Moyes, having only played once in the Premier League this season.

Zaha was the last signing made by Sir Alex Ferguson during January last season, but since joining the club in the summer has failed to break into Moyes’ first team plans.

The England international has only started two games for the Premier League Champions this season, the Community Shield victory over Wigan and the fourth-round League Cup win over Norwich.

Solskjaer will hope the acquisitions can inspire a revival as the Bluebirds are languishing at the foot of the Premier League table.
