23.23: And that's your lot for tonight. It's been a pleasure a don't forget to check out MM tomorrow for all the Greater Manchester reaction to transfer deadline day.

23.22: BBC's Richard Conway: "Hearing that DJ Campbell's proposed deal from QPR to Blackburn has fallen due to late paperwork."

23.12: To recap then, gone are the days of the Robinho and Berbatov type deals on deadline day.

Becks to PSG was the biggest deal of the day and Odemwingie to QPR was the strangest non-deal.

Elsewhere QPR brought in Andros Townsend and Jermaine Jenas from Tottenham while Arsenal strengthened in defence with Nacho Monreal.

23.05: I told you there'd be deals coming through, Nacho Monreal to Arsenal is now confirmed.

The Spanish left-back joins from Malaga on a 'long-term deal for an undisclosed fee', as Arsenal love to say.

23.04: Read all about Townsend and Jenas joining the Redknapp revolution at Loftus road, courtesy of South West Londoner.

23.00: BONG. The clock strikes 11pm and the 2013 January transfer window is officially shut, there's bound to be more deals filtering through though.

22.56: Magaye Gueye's loan away from Everton is complete, joining French side Brest.

And Bournemouth's Wes Thomas has been loaned to Birmingham until the end of the season.

22.53: BBC's David Ornstein with a couple of interesting tweets:

"Arsenal preparing to confirm Monreal. Medical done, just sorting paperwork."

"Spurs end striker hunt, no arrivals."

22.51: You can always rely on Harry Redknapp for a last minute deal.

He confirms on Sky Sports that Andros Townsend has joined QPR on loan from Tottenham.

22.50: We're down to the final ten minutes, will there be any surprises?

Will Tottenham wait until 11.15pm to announce a new striker?

And will Peter Odemwingie find a bed for the night?

22.47: Another one of those deals we were keeping an eye on:

Ajax's Eyong Enoh is now Fulham's Eyong Enoh, well until the end of the season at least.

22.45: You always trust the police don't you?: "We've just escorted a very special Spanish guest into the Etihad... ;)"

22.42: West Ham keeper Stephen Henderson has joined Ispwich on loan until the end of the season.

22.40: Stoke City are at it again, this time out the door as Matthew Upson joins Brighton on loan until the end of the season.

22.38: Wolves boss Dean Saunders confirmed in his post-match press conference tonight that the club did receive a loan offer from Celtic for Kevin Doyle.

The Irish international was on the bench tonight against Leicester City.

22.35: Those final few deals are gradually getting wrapped up, Jack Butland has finalised his four-and-a-half deal.

The Team GB and England international will be loaned back to Birmingham for the remainder of the season.

22.33: Mohammed Kamara has joined Bolton Wanderers from Serbian club Partizan Belgrade, subject to international clearance.

The Sierra Leone midfielder also holds Finnish citizenship – international indeed.

22.29: Blackburn's Ruben Rochina has tweeted this evening that he will be joining Zaragoza on loan until the end of the season.

There has been no official word from Rovers yet though.

22.25: Peterborough chairman Darragh McAnthony on George Boyd's failed vision test during Nottingham Forest medical: "Apparently after playing 300 games in 6 and half years, his vision isn't 20/20 so no deal. Total disgrace the whole thing."

22.22: Newcastle have terminated the final five months of Xisco's contract.

The Spanish flop cost the Toon £700,000 per appearance.

22.20: The John Stones to Everton deal is signed, sealed and delivered.

The 18-year-old has signed for a rumoured £3m from Barnsley for five-and-a-half years.

22.18: Bolton Wanderers have added to their squad as they push for promotion, read all about it here.

22.12: An update from Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony on the George Boyd to Forest situation: "What is with NFFC messing around with my club.1st my manager, now after putting Boyd through a medical since 10am this morning, their owner has cut the deal at last minute when their manager wants him. Farcical & ridiculous. More to follow."

Someone isn't happy with the Al Hasawi family.

22.10: Andros Townsend is at Loftus Road to finalise his deal.

While former Tottenham teammate Jermaine Jenas has put pen to paper on his 18-month deal at QPR.

22.07: Earlier in the week Peterborough's George Boyd was off to Crystal Palace.

Then today he was off to Nottingham Forest.

Then this......"Breaking: GEORGE BOYD MOVE IS OFF." from The Football Family

22.06: News coming from Sky Sports, it seems Celtic will be keeping hold of Norwich target Gary Hooper and could still add Kevin Doyle to their strikeforce.

Let's see how that one developes over the next hour.

22.02: Some of the finer details of that Jack Butland deal:

The deal is very close to being done and it would see the keeper loaned back to Birmingham for the remainder of the season.

22.00: With an hour to go before the window officially closes there are a few deals we're expecting to go through.

Jack Butland to Stoke is close.

Arsenal still hope to bring in Nacho Monreal.

And QPR are casting their net far and wide - well basically back to the Tottenham training ground with David Bentley, Andros Townsend and Jermaine Jenas on their radar.

21.56: Still no progress on Peter Odemwingie to QPR, the two clubs are apparently now in talks but not getting anywhere.

21.53: Kevin Phillips to Crystal Palace is now a done deal.

On loan from Blackpool until the rest of the season, he reunites with former boss Ian Holloway.

21.48: Dougie Freedman has bolstered his squad with the addition of Belgian winger Steve De Ridder on a month-long loan from Southampton.

21.39: Leeds lost top scorer Luciano Becchio to Norwich City earlier today and got Steve Morison in return.

Now they've added to their attacking options with Mouhamadou Habib Habibou coming in on loan until the end of the season - subject to international clearance.

21.36: BBC's Alistair Magowan: "QPR striker DJ Campbell has told me he is set to complete a move to Blackburn."

21.25: Stoke City have tweeted confirmation of US international Brek Shea.

The winger had a meeting in London today to get a work permit, it was granted and he has now signed a £2.5m deal for four-and-a-half years.

21.22: That John Percy tweet I reported earlier about Fulham being in for Momo Diame?

The Telegraph journalist has corrected himself: "Diame not going to Fulham. Received the reply of 'Fulham' to a message sent 4 hours ago. I'll hold my hands up."

21.20: BBC's Richard Conway again: "Just to reiterate - despite contrary reports - Peter Odemwingie didn't enter Loftus Rd. Arrived outside and then left immediately."

21.10: Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham have had their bid for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao rejected after on-going talks over a £17m deal. They have just less than two hours to come to an agreement.

21.15: Midfielder Lee Croft, currently on loan at Oldham Athletic, has been released from his contract by Derby County.

Will we see Paul Dickov swoop for him permanently? Croft is now a free agent as the termination of his contract also makes the loan void.

21.07: The total spent in this window so far has now topped £100m - what will our final total be?

21.06: It’s a done deal for West Ham as they confirm on Twitter that they agree to loan out midfielder Alou Diarra to French club Rennes until the end of the season.

21.03: Everton's Magaye Gueye could be on his way from Goodison Park.

The winger looks to be on his way back to France on loan - Everton getting someone off the wage bill for a short while?

21.02: Just two hours left to go, except for Spurs of course, they always seem to bend time and scrape a deal through on February 1.

20.59: BBC's Richard Conway with an update on the Odemwingie situation: "Odemwingie arrived at QPR, then left immediately. Not in talks with club. Understand it was a move by him to force the issue with WBA."

20.56: Fulham are active on deadline day, it seems Martin Jol learnt a bit from his time at White Hart Lane.

Ajax's midfielder Eyong Enoh is currently at Craven Cottage for talks.

20.55: Just to reiterate what we said earlier about Gary Hooper not going anywhere, Celtic manager Neil Lennon has just tweeted:

"Contrary to reports there have been no fresh bids for Gary and even if there are they will be rejected..he is NOT for sale."

20.54: Stockport have signed Jake Fowler from Championship side Middlesborough on a month's loan, confirms Sky Sports.

20.52: Oldham signing Chris Iwelumo promises to bring experience and help young players develop after joining on loan until the end of the season.

20.48: The Telegraph's John Percy is reporting Fulham are the team in for West Ham's Momo Diame.

Would be an interesting midfield with on-loan Emmanuel Frimpong.

20.45: New Barnsley manager Dave Flitcroft may be losing a player, but earlier in the day they brought in Rory Delap from Stoke City.

He of the long throw has joined on loan until the end of the season, can he help Barnsley to Championship safety?

20.42: In Oldham Athletic's third deal of the day, they have brought in striker Lee Barnard on loan until the end of the season from Southampton.

He follows striker Chris Iwelumo and midfielder Jordan Obita, who both also agree loan moves.

20.38: David Moyes is hoping to have a busy final few hours of the window and looks to be close to completing his first deal.

They are apparently close to capturing 18-year-old John Stones from Barnsley, from under the noses of Wigan.

20.35: The Sunday Mirror's Chris Lawton reports former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Simon Dawkins could be on his way to Aston Villa, or Wigan.

20.31: More news from Sky Sports, they report that despite Norwich's £9.2m bid for Celtic striker Gary Hooper, the English man is staying North of the border.

20.26: Sky Sports have revealed an unnamed Premier League club have triggered the release clause in Mohamed Diame's contract.

Arsenal were linked to the former Wigan midfielder earlier in the window - could Arsene be about to swoop?

20.22: QPR confirmed the signing of Christopher Samba earlier, read the SW Londoner's report on it.

20.18: Read more about Stockport County's earlier double signing of strikers Jon Macken and Mark Cullen.

20.15: Chris Lepkowski (Birmingham Mail WBA correspondent on Twitter): "Oh dear. Albion have spoken to the lawyers. This just got messier."

20.06: West Brom have just confirmed on their official site that permission has not been given for Peter Odemwingie to speak to QPR.

The Nigerian is in talks at Loftus Road but no deal is agreed between the clubs and it seems he is defying Albion's orders.

20.04: Sky Sports have just reported that Tottenham are in ongoing talks for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao in a £17m deal.

20.02: Fulham bring in Urby Emmanuelson from AC Milan, here's our SW Londoner report on the move.

19.59: Bolton Wanderers have signed Leicester defender Cian Bolger on a three and a half year deal for an undisclosed fee.

19.57: Veteran striker Kevin Phillips could be re-united with Ian Holloway as Sky Sports report he's off to championship high-flyers Crystal Palace.

19.51: Jermaine Jenas has just been interviewed outside Loftus Road - but the door's locked and they're not letting him in!

The Tottenham midfielder was on loan at his boyhood club Nottingham Forest earlier in the week but now looks to be joining Harry's revolution at QPR until the end of the season.

19.48: There's big news from Bolton as the BBC reports that Kevin Davies could be set to leave before his contract expires in the summer, with interest being shown from Scottish and Championship sides.

19.46: More frustration for Wigan Athletic as Liverpool midfielder Suso confirms on Twitter he will not be going on loan.

He posted on Twitter: "I'm making clear that I'm not going on loan to Wigan. I'm really happy in Liverpool and I'll try my best to be playing here every game."

19.43: Irish international Aiden McGready has decided not to move to Wigan Athletic, says Sky Sports. The player had look set to make the move to Britain but the deal will now not go ahead.

19.39: I told you Tony Pulis had been busy today, so busy I missed a move earlier.

United States international Brek Shea is close to a move from FC Dallas.

The 26-year-old winger nearly moved earlier in the month but an injury seemed to have scuppered the deal, not so it seems.

19.35: With Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs injuring himself last night and Andre Santos not covering himself in glory, Arsene Wenger has moved to fill the left-back void.

BBC Sport are reporting Malaga defender Nacho Monreal is in talks with Arsenal over an £8m move. The 26-year-old would be cup-tied for the Champions League last 16 tue though.

19.33: Tottenham keeper Heurelho Gomes has joined Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on loan until the end of the season.

Having been bumped down the pecking order at White Hart Lane with the arrival of Hugo Lloris in the summer, Gomes clearly wanted to play.

The Team GB and England international turned down Chelsea earlier in the week but is in talks with the West Midlands club.

19.21: West Brom's Jerome Thomas - who was on loan with Leeds before Christmas - could be off to Blackburn Rovers according to Sky Sports, he's in talks with the Lancashire club.

19.19: Liverpool keeper Alexander Doni has gone to Botafogo on a permanent deal.

19.15: Sky Sports are reporting that Peter Odemwingie has arrived at Loftus Road.

And now they show it, the forward is in talks but the deal could still fall down as the Baggies want Junior Hoilett in return.

19.14: Fulham have signed 27-year-old Bulgarian right-back Stanislav Manolev on loan from PSV Eindhoven until the summer with the option of two further years.

19.03: Manchester City have signed 18-year-old striker Godsway Donyoh from Right to Dream Academy - and loaned him out to Swedish champions Djurgårdens IF.

19.00: There's action both ways at Rochdale, as attacker Andy Haworth joins the club for free from Falkirk, goalkeeper Steve Collis also joins for free, and leftback Shane Cansdell-Sherriff comes from Preston on loan.

Leaving Spotland is Neill Bryne, who departs for Southport.

18.57: Stockport County have announced on their website that they have brought in two players to boost their squad. Former Manchester City striker Jon Macken joins as a free agent on a non-contract and Mark Cullen arrives from Hull City on a moan's loan.

18.51: Welcome to MM's coverage of transfer deadline day.

Let's be honest, the day hasn't really caught fire yet but there's still plenty of time left for fireworks to fly.

But while we're waiting for those fireworks, let's have a recap of the day's big news.
