Northern Ballet’s Casanova making surprise return to stage for a super sensual broadcast special

Northern Ballet’s highly-acclaimed production of Casanova is returning to Manchester – and this time it’s coming with a camera crew in tow.

The show – which received rave reviews during its stint at The Lowry in May – has announced two surprise dates at the Palace Theatre.

This means that theatre-goers can once again re-live the sexual exploits of the man deemed ‘history’s greatest lover’ on August 4 and 5.

SIZZLING: The show is extremely sensual at times

There promises to be an added touch of glitz and glamour to the proceedings as the production is to be taped for a later broadcast.

It’s yet another mark of success for a show which has already entertained over 40,000 people and raked in £1.2million at the box office.

Casanova is part of Northern Ballet’s World Première Tour.

It tells the true story of Giacomo Girolamo Casanova – a man who left his mark on the world thanks to his wild antics in the bedroom.

Set in 18th century Venice, the plot details his long list of escapades that ultimately led to scandal, imprisonment and exile.

RETURNING: The production will play two dates at the Palace Theatre

In fact, Casanova’s numerous exploits were so infamous that people are still talking about him to this very day.

Northern Ballet’s show has award-winning choreographer Kenneth Tindall at the helm.

Amongst his growing accolades includes a nod for Best Classical Choreography and the Emerging Artist Award at the 2015 National Dance Awards.

The production is set to an original score by modern classical, film and television composer Kerry Muzzey, played live by Northern Ballet Sinfonia.

Earlier this year, MM concluded that ‘every individual involved contributes to the routine with flawless timing and an exhilarating commitment to their craft’ after attending the show.

There’s every reason to believe that audience members will be equally impressed with the surprise shows being held later this week.

*Northern Ballet’s Casanova will play at the Palace Theatre on Friday, Aug 4 and Saturday, Aug 5. Tickets are priced at £30 and can be purchased HERE.
