Phoenix Nights reveal new Manchester date following Ted Robbins’ collapse

Audience members who witnessed the collapse of Ted Robbins during last Saturday’s Phoenix Nights live show have been invited to a special matinee performance next Sunday.

Thousands of fans packed into the Manchester Arena to watch a stage version of the cult Channel Four sitcom, only for it to be cut short after the 59-year-old actor suffered a cardiac arrest on stage.

With Robbins now making a recovery, ticket holders of last Saturday’s show will be able to attend a new date on Sunday February 15 at 2.30pm.

A statement read: “Following the unfortunate cancellation of Saturday’s show part way through the second act, the cast and crew have been working hard to try and reschedule the event to enable ticket holders to watch the show in its entirety.

“It was a very distressing night for all the people involved in the show and indeed the audience, the cast and crew would like to thank them for their patience whilst these arrangements have been made.

“Most importantly Ted is on the mend and the whole team send their best wishes to him and his family.”

The show famously helped launch the career of Bolton-based comedian Peter Kay, who announced the details on his Facebook page.

Fans are advised to contact their ticket agent as soon as possible in order to get a new ticket for the show, with the deadline set at midnight on Monday February 9.
