Northern Quarter gets the freshest taste of Spain thanks to the Foundry Project

A new Northern Quarter bar is bringing the freshest taste of Spain to its punters with a city first.

The latest Foundry Project opens its doors today and will be pouring beer from the first ever Estrella beer tank in the UK.

With sites already in Harrogate and Edinburgh, Manchester is now the third in the country and it’s been designed especially with the country’s coolest city in mind.

The new site formerly known as Bluu Bar has now been fully renovated throughout — located on High Street in the city’s Northern Quarter.

Spread over two floors, the new decor is inspired by Manchester’s industrial past featuring copper ceilings, leather Chesterfield booths and vibrantly coloured tiles, and the UK’s first Estrella beer tank provides the impressive centrepiece.

Estrella’s European Marketing Manager, Dan Bloxham was around to witness the launch and to provide staff and customers a history lesson on the Estrella brand.

Dan said: “We can ensure the quality of our beer in this tank from the point that it leaves our brewery in Barcelona, all the way until it has been served out of one of these taps.”

The beer will be directly shipped from Spain around every 15 days, or when the tank indicates to the brewery it’s running low.

FRESH: The beer is shipped in every fortnight or so to ensure it’s in peak condition

This will ensure a fresher, better tasting beer that you will struggle to find this quality elsewhere, especially considering the average beer keg has a shelf life of between three to six months.

Dan’s team was also on hand providing a masterclass to staff on how to pour the perfect pint.

Inside the new venue is a mix of private and larger dining areas with a stripped back look including exposed beams, polished concrete and hand painted pictures on the brickwork, this gives the venue an overwhelmingly warm and welcoming feel.

The food menu is impressive, and the open kitchen and pizza oven will be cooking up plenty of tasty food cooked in full view of diners.

Chefs will be rustling up some of the best burgers and stone baked pizzas in Manchester that compliments the amazing cocktail drinks menu.

Also on offer is a great snacking menu that includes a range of tacos, nachos, chicken wings, halloumi fries and super salads.

Foundry Project is due to open on Friday November 23. Follow them on Facebook for their latest offers.
