Synth-pop duo Still Corners bringing unique musical stylings to Manchester

Still Corners are set to perform an intimate gig in Manchester.

The duo – famed for their unique pop-synth style – will play at the trendy YES on Monday, December 3.

The set it sure to excite music fans, most of which will no doubt be clamouring to hear the two-piece’s new music.

Back in August, the group – made up of songwriter/producer Greg Hughes and vocalist Tessa Murray – released their fourth studio album, Slow Air.

Speaking about the record, Murray said: “We wanted to hear beautiful guitar and drums and an otherworldliness, something almost indefinable along with a classic song writing vibe.

“We’re always trying to get the sound we hear inside of ourselves, so we moved fast to avoid our brains getting in the way too much. The name Slow Air evokes the feel of the album to me, steady, eerie and beautiful.”

Recorded in a new studio designed by Greg Hughes in Austin, Texas, Still Corners focused on a recording process that was as fluid and minimal as possible.

Using a variety of microphones both old and new, the band recorded and mixed this new set of songs in three months.
