Drinks Enthusiast: Something exciting is added to the mix… Diamond Standard Vodka

MM columnist and Drinks Enthusiast, David Marsland, adds something rather exciting to an extensive range of reviews… Diamond Standard Vodka!

Produced at the Siedlce Distillery in Poland, it is made from Dankowski diamond rye.

Distilled four times, followed by four stages of filtration that includes a diamond filtration process that was developed exclusively and involves the use of thousands of DeBeers diamonds.

The final result can be used to create the ‘ultimate martini’ – The Diamond Martini. It can also be served neat, on the rocks or as a mixer.

The bottle itself is also a work of art. Sold in a perfume-grade, award-winning Saverglass bottle, which each has its own round-cut 25mm Swarovski crystal from the Crystallized Elements Collection.

Diamond Standard – 40%

Rather neutral on the nose with a slight butter aroma coming through near the end. Smooth and silky on the palate, with a very long flavour of butter that moves to a slight peppery finish with small blasts of hotness to finish.

As mentioned above, Diamond Standard is fantastic to create a Diamond Martini:

Martini

Ingredients

55ml Chilled Diamond Vodka
15ml Martini Dry

Method

Pour all ingredients into mixing glass with ice cubes. Stir well. Strain in chilled martini glass. Squeeze oil from lemon peel onto the drink, or garnish with olive.

Now I’m not going to mention the price, but there’s only one place you purchase Diamond Standard and that’s here.

If you see Diamond Standard on a back-bar, give it a try as it’s not a bad offering, but I think the bottle itself doesn’t help its cause.
